GetnGo order & grocery pickup app is an inventive intermediary service idea from its visionary founder John Franks. A disruptive click and collect application with a customer-centered UI & UX design, GetnGo was built on the premise to provide out of the box convenience and time savings for audiences in Duarte, California. John’s vision was to develop an efficient, easy to use solution that facilitates customers to conveniently discover, select, order, track and pick up groceries, medicine, and food.

Crownsoft was presented with the challenge to convert an innovative idea into a functioning user friendly mobile app that would connect local businesses with their customers. Our mission would be to embed intelligent service discovery, hassle free payments, real time order tracking, and loyalty building features into an immersive interface. In addition, the design would focus on accessibility, customer ease of use, and appeal for the target audience.
Crownsoft’s talented team began with two comprehensive conception meetings with the client and developed two separate scope of work (SoW) for the GetnGo mobile app and website. The high level project overview detailed the app’s purpose, goals & objectives, and its key stakeholders.
Utilizing a progressive mix of technologies we developed a feature rich cross platform app with React Native and Node.js. Salient features include location based vendor discovery, in app payments, social media integration, push notifications, order tracking & updates, user authentication, account management, and robust data security.
The app underwent several iterations during development over 5 weeks. Custom APIs were developed for the login and sign up screens. Additionally, a customized admin panel was developed to register service providers (restaurants, pharmacies, and grocery stores) using MySQL databases. All vendor menus, categories, and products were imported to the app dashboard using our custom API.
The app was finally submitted on Google Play and Apple App Store in September 2024.
Our team identified the user flow by researching the steps customers will take to complete tasks within GetnGo. A consistent flow was documented by Crownsoft’s project team analyzing competitor apps and consumer research provided by John Franks, to determine a minimal user flow for the app. The app’s ideal user personas were business professionals and homemakers.
GetnGo users would interact with the app using its home screen icon or push notifications used to update order status. Therefore, great emphasis was placed on creating an attractive onboarding & registration screen. Our app designers also broke tasks down in smaller achievements, organizing each screen in logical order with sketches using Miro.
GetnGo’s captivating design system was documented following strategic brand guidelines affirming consistency, efficiency, scalability, and a cohesive user experience. Our designers incorporated the extensive brand guidelines for logos, color palettes, fonts, and other design elements. We prioritized minimalism, accessibility, and full responsiveness experimenting with multiple layouts.
Color psychology establishes green for energy, honesty, comfort, and happiness, while white represents simplicity, purity, and independence. This simplistic green & white design system was chosen to instill trust and reflect the comfort provided by GetnGo. Our massively gifted designers took charge from there testing various fonts, text sizes, color schemes, spacing, grids, iconography, buttons, forms, navigation, pop-ups & alerts, menus, and lists.

Collaborating on the inventive GetnGo app idea was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for Crownsoft. Given the freedom to develop goals & objectives and a strategic scope of work provided us with a great opportunity to exercise our diverse team skills and experience.
We developed a better understanding of using a minimum viable product (MVP) to research and test solutions in real time. Proactive feedback from the client also expedited design and development, enabling us to integrate essential features & functionality to release a truly exclusive product that delivers better value.
